The termination policies contained in the
Employee Handbook and other company policy manuals should be made
available to every employee upon being hired into the organization.
These policies should be posted to the company intranet for easy
access and update. Yearly reviews of content and periodic notices of
updates are minimum requirements for good practice.
Another
important avenue for communicating the company policies and
procedures is through training programs. The IT managers need to be
informed of the law, the employer’s obligations, what is considered
inappropriate behavior, and the proper company procedures. Employees
should be trained in the company policies and procedures, as well as
their rights as employees.
